Looking for a round GIA true hearts for this setting in the 1 to 2 ct size that looks marvelous and meets your criteria for visual and value . Like to keep it under 10K.
As much as we love JA (and we obviously do), I don’t think its worth spending extra on their True Hearts. I would go with the 1.50ct excellent cut over a 1.20ct True Hearts. Either way, here are my recommendations:
Thanks for the prompt reply and the great informational articles and website. The diamonds you picked look great.
I have a couple more questions for you. Since you have been so honest and forthright to expose the mass marketing behind the diamond trade to keep diamond prices artificially high, what is your opinion of the Diamond Nexus products? Have you personally had a chance to compare synthetics with real diamonds? Do they hold up? Are they easily spotted as synthetics?
Here are the two problems that I have with Synthetics. Based on that, I feel strongly that they are a waste of money.
1) They rarely have legitimate certification. This is a big deal.
2) They have zero resale value. While we feel very strongly that you shouldn’t view your diamond as an investment, you shouldn’t ignore that aspect entirely.
You can say, “So what? If I like the way it looks, who cares?” The reason why these two issues have an impact is that synthetic diamonds aren’t cheap. If you can get a synthetic diamond that is 75% cheaper (or more) than a comparable natural diamond, it would be worth it. But you can’t. They are usually 30-40% cheaper. That difference can be attributed to the weakness of the certificate alone (e.g. you buy a synthetic diamond graded G VS2 but its really an I SI1; you could buy a natural diamond I SI1 for the same price). Taking those risks and removing all resale/trade-in value just doesn’t make sense to me.
