Hi! I am trying to help my boyfriend find the perfect diamond for me, for around 3,000 dollars. The setting is yellow gold, it has a round halo with pave diamond accents.

it is the second ring down on the left, it costs $ 895 dollars.
We are using the site called Shane Co. The desired shape is round brilliant, and i was aiming for something around an E or F of an SI2 or SI1. We thought we found the perfect diamond it had a color of E it was .96 carats and was an SI2 but someone else bought it. We are hoping to buy something no less than .80 carats, and would prefer 1 carat. What do you think is the best diamond from this site? I thought this site would be easy to use since you can build your own ring and narrow down the search for the diamond you want by selecting the color, carat, and clarity range. My boyfriend is set on using this site. Thank you!
Unfortunately, I can’t really help you buy a stone from Shane, because I can’t see what the diamond will look like on their site (as opposed to James Allen that has magnified photos of their stones).
I will say this, though – there’s absolutely no reason to stick with such a high color grade if you’re setting it in a yellow gold halo. Go for a J or K color and you’ll be able to get a larger stone. Something like this:

Thank you for emailing me back! We actually went with one of the diamonds you suggested, after some convincing i got my boyfriend to venture over to the james allen site, i can’t wait to see it in person, i just hope the setting we chose doesn’t take away from the diamond, i’m afraid my setting stones will out shine my center stone somehow! The diamond we chose had “triple zero” and was considered ideal even with a feather, crystal, and needle. It appeared to be eye clean as well under the scope.
Sounds great! Please let me know what you think when it arrives!
