Q&A: “Need Your Expertise” to Find Round Diamond for $2500-$3000 Budget

By Mike Fried,

I need your advices for the best diamond ring for me.

I’d like the best looking diamond, with a lot of sparkling and shinning.

I’ve selected some diamonds to show you, but if you find something better, i’d appreciate.

Now about the ring, which one of these 2 rings are you recommending me:

I am ‘petite’ with a ring size of 4.5 .

The diamond is between .68ct and .75ct .

My favorite:

Thanks in advance for your generous help and precious expertise.

Thanks for writing. Quick question – do you need the diamond to be between 68 and 75 points, or is this just what you think you can afford? If I can find you a larger stone for the same money would you be interested?

Thank you sooo much for helping me! 🙂

I am wearing since few years a .25 ct (solitaire ring, yellow gold) and I want something bigger. And shinier, sparkling! 🙂

I am ”petite” and my ring size is 4.5. So, I think I’d like around .75ct. !?!

I don’t have a lot of money, and around .75ct and more, I fear that it is too big on my finger. I do not want it to be disproportionate! 😉 What do you think about this size (.70, .75ct) of the diamond? I don’t want everybody think ”WTF” it is too big for her finger! 😉

I know that bigger diamond = more $$$.

The last year was… horrible for me 🙁 so I deserve a little gift for me.

(I speak french, sorry for the bad english!…)

But I would be happy if my solitaire diamond ring would cost me less or no more than 2500$. But I know I need to pay more for what I want (around .75, really sparkling: excellent cut?!, no feather, crystal, pinpont, etc. to see on naked eye!). So I am willing to pay in total (ring + diamond) around 2800$, maximum 3000$.

Between 2500$ 🙂 and 3000$ is ok for me. Because I will wear my diamond ring for…Eternity! 😉 And I know I will look at it everyday!!! 🙂 I am perfectionist, so I want the best I can have (sparkling, beauty of the diamond, and of course bigger than .65ct!

Thank you so much, I trust your judgement more than mine about diamond ring. I know I will be happy with my diamond ring after that.

If I can do something in return of what you’re doing for me right now: tell me!!!

Since you’re setting it in YG, a K color will be fine for you. I like this one:

https://www.jamesallen.com/diamonds/K-SI1-Excellent-Cut-Round-Diamond-1499686.asp

Let me know what you think!

Thank you !

I know, I ask you advices and I trust you… but probably it’s in my head, but I fear the SI1 and the K color… 🙁 If I’m not sure, I will stick with that. I am more comfortable with the VS and color J.

Please, I would appreciate so much if you can look at these diamonds and give me your advices and which one will have the more sparkling, shinning, and eye clean of course.

The best diamond for me, on a YG solitaire ring.

My choices:

Is there a difference when I look at the 0.68ct and the 0.76 ct on my solitaire ring (diameter; color, sparkling, brilliance)??? (the diameter seem not significant, and it is 300$ more for the .76) What do you think?

Is this ring ok with that diamond? Beautiful and secure? (don’t want to loose the middle piece with the diamond) 😉

Thank you so much!

I would definitely go with the K. It’s probably more brilliant due to the cut and it’s noticeably larger (not overwhelmingly so, but it is noticeable). And yes, that ring is great!

Thank you so much for your advices!!!

I bought the 0.76ct, color K, cut True Hearts, on jamesallen.com! 🙂

I’m eager to see it!!!!! 🙂 I will receive it at a FedEx ”hold at location” in Portland, Maine.

Sounds great! Looking forward to your report!

Thank you for all your help! 🙂

I’m from Quebec and last tuesday I went to the Fedex (hold at location) in Portland for my diamond ring!

I bought what you recommended with James Allen:

“True Hearts” Round 0.76 carat K color VS2 clarity diamond

Price: $2,460

It is perfect!!!! I am so happy that I bought a True Hearts cut!!!

Thank you so much again.

Thanks for letting us know! That’s such wonderful news!

Congrats!!
