I feel bad about troubling you with something that has been discussed on your excellent website so exhaustively, but I am in the market for an engagement ring. I would like the stone to be round, and the setting pave or channel.
I have selected the following diamond in the belief that it is eye-clean and bright enough to be able to shine in a pave setting and not be overwhelmed by the diamonds around it:
I would love to get your opinion on this stone!
The cut on that diamond is far too poor. It will not be brilliant. You are far better off with this diamond:
It’s eye-clean, and will be far more brilliant.
Thank you for replying so quickly!
Thanks also for your sound advice. I have gone ahead and ordered the stone you recommended. I compared it with a couple of others I had found with “very good” cuts and yours just seemed to shine a lot brighter. I have changed the setting to a white gold solitaire setting, so the stone will hopefully shine even more.
Once again, many thanks for your great advice!
Sounds great. Let me know how it looks when it arrives.
Just a quick note to say thanks again for your great advice. I have the ring and am very, very happy with the choice of diamond you recommended. It looks great!
Thanks again for your help.
