First of all, thank you so much for all of the work you have put into this site. It has been incredibly helpful for me as I have begun to navigate the engagement ring purchase process.
I have a quick question on the color suggestions of a diamond. I am looking to purchase a yellow gold pave ring with a round cut. You recommend K-M for yellow gold and G-I for pave. What would you recommend for yellow gold pave? Is it safe to assume the diamond would still pick up some yellow from the gold ring?

For a yellow gold pave setting you should stick with an I+/J+ color diamond to make sure it doesn’t look yellowish. It’ll still look fantastic, but the metal color will add a slight hue to any diamond so there is no point in paying extra for the higher grades.
If you tell me what your ballpark budget it, I’d be happy to make some recommendations to you.
As for my budget for the entire ring I would be thrilled if I can find something for around $4,000 or less, but am willing to spend up to approximately $5,000.
