Good evening. I am looking for a solitaire diamond in a platinum setting. Very simple and elegant. I would like either a radiant cut or asscher cut, but open to others. Not a huge fan of the princess or round cuts. I was checking this out: http://www.brilliantearth.com/rings/cyorings/view_diamond/3358559/?sid=1705490
Any thought?
I’d be happy to make some recommendations for you, but I need a little more info.
What is your ballpark budget for the stone?
Brilliant Earth is priced significantly higher than their competitors. They make several claims about offering added value over their competitors (most notably their “beyond conflict-free” pledge). Unfortunately, despite our best efforts, we are unable to verify that these claims are true (they have rebuffed our attempts to verify, even our offer to fly on our own expense to check their sources).
At this point, I can’t recommend a company that has inflated prices without knowing there is a justification for those prices.
Hi, Thanks for the quick reply.
I am in the budget range for a diamond between 2500 to 4000 for the right rock. I have a very simple platinum setting from James Allen I like.
If they’re one of your preferred vendors. I would like either a radiant or assher cut. I’ve looked at some change Alan diamonds but I haven’t jumped too deep into that yet. What it be easiest for me to look at a couple more and send you some ideas that I have?
Thank you for the kind words.
Feel free to send me anything you find, I’m happy to comment on it.
I also looked around and found these diamonds I like for you:

They are well cut, eye-clean and either of them will make a beautiful ring.
What do you think?
I do think I like the radiant cut better but seems to sparkle more and have an it more character. Since this is a solitaire only it seems to bring a by more to the party. I noticed prices drastically dropped if you went below 1 c. Or is the difference minimal?
Is this similar to the one you sent? Any others you might recommend?
I’m glad you like it.
It is true that 1ct is sort of a benchmark for diamond prices. The 995275 you found is eye-clean, but it’s much smaller than the one I found and also, it’s cut too deep. That would negatively affect its brilliance.
The 603322 is not eye-clean and I wouldn’t recommend going lower than an H for a radiant cut in a solitaire setting. It might end up having some yellowish tones in it.
How about something like this?
