First off, love your website, very informative and helpful. I am looking for an oval diamond for an engagement ring and have been looking at James Allen per your website. Wondering if you could help me find a good oval diamond in the $3,000 range, I can go a bit higher if needed. I’d like to stay just around 1 karat or just short of it and obviously get the best bang for my buck. Any suggestions you’d have for me would be awesome.
I’d be happy to make some recommendations and guide you through the process. What type of setting are you considering? Yellow gold or white gold/platinum? Will it be a solitaire or does it have sidestones/pave? This may affect the colors that I recommend for the center diamond (as we explain in our post on color).
The setting i’m considering is white gold with sidestones/pave. Something like this:
Thanks again!
This would be my recommendation:

Awesome, I love it and will probably be purchasing that one, maybe even today yet. I’m struggling with what ring setting to use, do you have any recommendations on that from James Allen? I’m looking for something similar to the picture I sent in the previous email.
How do you like this one?
Thanks for both recommendations….I was actually looking at that exact same setting. I just purchased both the diamond you recommended and the setting.
Sounds great. Please let me know how it looks when it arrives.
