1) Your approximate budget for the diamond – $5000 total including diamond and setting
2) The color of metal in the setting you plan to use – platinum
3) The style of the setting (ie, plain solitaire or side stones). If you can provide a link, that’s best. – i really like the pave setting the best
What do you recommend is the best ring I should get for my budget of $5000.
Thanks.

What do you think of these?
I appreciate the feedback. The girl I plan on giving the diamond to is tall and thin and has rather skinny, long fingers. Would you recommend sacrificing the size of the diamond (carat wt) for something that has better clarity and color since her fingers aren’t very large? She also isn’t very materialistic, but I’d like to get her something that reflects light well and shines.
I mean I’d like to get something that is at least 0.70 carats, H or better, VS1 or better. Would you think this is a wise decision? I’m not sure how noticable of a difference it would make to jump to an I color or VS2 clarity grade.
I also seem to be attracted to the round cut the most. And, based on reviews that I’ve read thus far, it appears that James Allen might be my best bet? Would you agree?
Thanks so much again.
We feel very strongly that it makes no sense spending more on paper improvements that you will never see with your eyes. Once a diamond is eye-clean, its eye-clean.
You can save money by going smaller if you feel it will suit her build, but don’t waste money on that.
