Hi,
I’m looking for an oval-cut diamond for a 14k white gold setting:
14K WHITE GOLD CABLE SOLITAIRE ENGAGEMENT RING
My budget is $5k. I have found a list full of diamonds from James Allen and would like to know your opinion on some of them, which would be my best option for this budget? Do you have other suggestions?
Here are three that caught my eye:
1. www.jamesallen.com/loose-diamonds/oval-cut/1.01-carat-e-color-si1-clarity-sku-6554114?a_aid=dmnd1357
I’m thinking #1 has the least amount of bowtie effect.
What do you think? I’m wondering if there would be better options for $5k? I’m looking for around 1 carat (or more if possible).

This one is not the best option. Very small culet and extremely thick girdle are issues we recommend avoiding.

Its cert says “clarity grade based on clouds not shown.” This means there is a very large cloud that covers a large percentage of the diamond and saps the brilliance from it. You should never buy a diamond with this note.

This one has a strong bow-tie and medium fluorescence might make it look hazy/milky.
I found a couple of diamonds that I like better:

What do you think of them?
I really like this one you suggested: www.jamesallen.com/loose-diamonds/oval-cut/1.01-carat-h-color-vs1-clarity-sku-6423845?a_aid=dmnd1357
The ratio is just where she likes it. Maybe you have found more great diamonds between 1.4-1.5 ratio? If not I think this option is pretty good.
Great, I’m glad you like that one.
I found a couple of more options:

These look good too. I still prefer the first one you sent me though, so I chose that one. Thanks for all the help!
I’m glad we found the One!
