Q&A: Looking for an Emerald Cut Diamond Within a $2,500 – 4,500 Budget

By Mike Fried,

HI, I’m looking for an emerald cut diamond, with a price range of about $2500-$4500, with something around 1 carat.

Thank you.

Thanks for the suggestions, are there any comparable diamonds from Blue Nile? Maybe at least a G in color and VS1 in clarity?

Sure, here you go:

Blue Nile LD09381223
Blue Nile LD08947098
They have great specs.

Thoughts?

I’m liking this one: Blue Nile LD08947098

What do you think of any of these:

Blue Nile LD09150868
Blue Nile LD09287584
Blue Nile LD09385442
Blue Nile LD06550700
Blue Nile LD08124199
Blue Nile LD09414895
Blue Nile LD09008649
Blue Nile LD09036384
Blue Nile LD08723575

Wanting to purchase from Blue Nile because they have the setting I want.

Some of the diamonds you sent me don’t have a video on their page. I wouldn’t recommend buying an emerald cut diamond without seeing its video (or at least picture) first. Some emeralds have a very strong black windowing effect and wouldn’t make a pretty ring.

I love LD08947098 the most. The rest of the diamonds with videos are either not eye-clean (LD09036384) or have a bit too strong black windowing (LD09150868). Also, be careful with fluorescence, for G+ diamonds you should have only none or faint. Medium fluorescence might make the stones look hazy/milky.

They both look amazing. Either of them will be an excellent choice, just pick the one you like more. Personally, I’d go with the G-VVS2, there’s no reason to pay more for something identical.

Thank you for all your help! I went with this one:
Blue Nile LD09483063

Thanks again!
