Hi,
I would like your advice in purchasing an engagement ring for my wife-to-be.
I have been browsing mostly Blue Nile because we live in Europe and I’m interested in a rectangular shape radiant cut. The setting will be a pavé white gold like this one: Petite Pavé Diamond Engagement Ring
What is your opinion on these diamonds?
1. Blue Nile LD10958157
The budget is approximately $7500 total for the diamond and setting.
Thank you in advance.
I would exclude the J-color diamond. Radiant cut diamonds don’t refract light just as well as round diamonds and thus tend to show their true color more.
The G VVS1 is fantastic, I love it. Nice find!
Thanks a lot for your great feedback. I really appreciate it!
Could you also give me an input for my plan B?
A platinum floating halo setting (Floating Halo Diamond Engagement Ring) with something similar to these diamonds:
As for plan B, neither of the diamonds is a good choice:
1) Strong fluorescence can make an I-color diamond look hazy/milky.
2) The “Very good” cut grade is not enough. For a round brilliant I wouldn’t settle for anything less than an EX (Ideal) cut as the cut is what makes the diamond brilliant and beautiful.
Here’s what I’d go with:
Blue Nile LD10451278
It’ll look amazing in a halo setting.
Thanks, I really appreciate it!
