My girlfriend has INCREDIBLY skinny fingers. I’m worried a large diamond would look like it was eating her hand.
Is there a cut/size combo best suited for small handed women?
I believe that choosing the size is a matter of personal taste. What one thinks is small the other thinks is too big. You can also visit one of your local stores to get an idea of what you think is the right size.
Can you also tell me what style of setting (solitaire, halo, pave or other), metal (white or yellow gold) and shape of diamond you’re looking for? Then I’ll be happy to send you my suggestion.
I’m looking for a round cut, solitaire setting, platinum or white gold preferred.
Thank you for the additional information.
And one last question before I start the search, what’s your approximate budget? I’m sorry I forgot to ask about it in my previous email.
That’s a good question that I haven’t quite answered for myself yet. I’m unfamiliar with cost/value of diamonds and would be interested in a range of options. I don’t expect I can exceed $5,000. I’d be much more comfortable with $2,000 – $3,000.
Thank you for the info.
Since you plan on using a solitaire style setting, I suggest searching for a J color diamond. Here’s one with the quality I’d recommend:
Blue Nile LD09747512
It’s very well cut, eye-clean and going to look colorless.

What do you think?
Thanks for the info. We went to a local store yesterday and did some sizing. Could you recommend something in the .45 – .6 carat range?
OK, have a look at these stones:
Blue Nile LD08882722
Blue Nile LD09191705
Blue Nile LD00000067
What do you think?
I enjoy the price point of this diamond quite a lot and it meets all the visual requirements I have! Do you have any additional comparable options?
Blue Nile LD08882722
I’m happy to hear that you like my suggestions.
I also found this one:
Blue Nile LD08843716
It’s slightly bigger in measurements. So it’s another great way to go.
Thank you. I went with Blue Nile LD08882722.
That’s fantastic news!
It was my pleasure helping you.
