Good evening,
I’m in the need of some professional help for a setting and diamond setup. She likes a rose gold pave setting. She is a small girl with small hands. She is a nurse and works with her hands frequently. She wants a round diamond. I’m thinking 1 to 1.5 carat with the best value. I’m hoping you could guide me in the best direction for what diamond to choose with her characteristics .ie smaller diamond that will pop because of great clarity and color which makes it look bigger?
Ideally I would want to spend 5-8k.
Have a look at this diamond:
Blue Nile LD08672817
It’s very well cut, eye-clean and going to look colorless (https://www.diamonds.pro/education/color/).
What do you think?
Thanks for your time. The diamond looks great!
My only questions are going to be how it would look in a rose gold setting. I’m looking for a pave setting that’s low profile because she is a nurse. I also want a quality diamond that will look bigger because of its quality.
Will this diamond be a good fit for a rose gold setting? She wants rose gold prongs as well, a lot of them online are white gold, why is that? Also I don’t want a setting where the prongs will take over the diamond.
I appreciate all your help. Thanks!
Yes, this stone is perfect for a rose gold setting. Rose gold is somewhere between white and yellow. That’s why I wouldn’t go lower than for an I+ color (https://www.diamonds.pro/education/color/).
Let me know what you decide.
What is your opinion on the prongs? She likes rose gold prongs but I feel that may take away from the shine and color of the diamond? Any suggestions?
I wouldn’t say that any prongs would take away brilliance from a diamond. Rose gold prongs will be more noticeable than white gold. But if this is what your partner likes, I wouldn’t worry about it.
The diamond you selected is currently not available. Can you find me another one similar? I like the clarity (VVS2) and cut. Thanks a lot for your help.
I’m sorry to hear that. Here’s one more option I found for you:
Blue Nile LD08354091
It’s also very well cut, almost the same specs and also a few bucks cheaper.
What do you think?
Why does it look so hazy on the side picture of it??
Does the table percentage have a lot to do with how big the diamond looks?? Or is it so small of a difference it won’t be noticeable?
Thanks!
……
Sorry, that was a stock photo. How important is color going to be if i jumped up to a G or H???
Since you’re going to use a pave rose gold setting, I wouldn’t go up with the color. An I color stone is going to look colorless and I don’t see a reason for you to pay the extra buck without getting any extra benefit.
