Hi. looking to get diamond earring for my wife. 2 carat tw. Thanks.
…
Also looking for a 1.75 carat diamond for a ring. F, vvs2, ideal. Around that range. Thanks for your help.
Is there a reason you are focusing on such high color and clarity? I think that is the wrong path. Check out these articles:

What is your ballpark budget for the earrings and the diamond?
Hi. What color and clarity would you recommend for the earring? How about for a 1.75 carat for a ring? Price range I am looking for the best quality for the money. I don’t mind spending more for higher quality. Thanks.
The reason I’m asking for your ballpark budget is that I dont’ want to be wasting my (and your time). Many readers see illegitimately certified or fake diamonds and base their expectations on that. Is your budget for the diamond about 20k?
For the roughly 1.75 carat, yes my budget is about $20k. I have seen a few online ranging from $15k-35k.
Thanks

We really feel that spending that much money on an F VVS2 is a waste. You can get a perfectly fine G VS2 (which no one can tell the difference with their eyes). I do not believe that the F VVS diamonds were actually under 19k without major flaws (illegitimate certification or medium/strong fluorescence). If they were GIA certified excellent cuts (no 60% table and no/faint fluorescence), then go for it.

As for the earrings, I actually have some studs on my desk from Since1910.com. We have been hearing excellent feedback from readers about them, so we just secret shopped them. Their studs are fantastic:

If you happen to be looking for a halo setting on the ring, I’d recommend going with them for the ring as well.
What do you think?
Thanks for the info. What do you think of this one?

Also, why are diamond with the same characteristic have difference in price when all the 4 C’s are the same and certified. Thanks.
Can you send me the diamond number? That link doesn’t work.
Well, there are other aspects to take into account. Cut (GIA excellent covers a lot of ground) and fluorescence are the two big ones that vary the price. But a big difference is the supplier. All of these sites list the diamonds virtually from wholesalers (every site does it). Different vendors have different price structures.
So I would not recommend a G color diamond with strong fluorescence.
Which one of the 4 would you recommend and why?

Thanks. I know you say F is not necessary but I would like your opinion on these 4. Thanks.
I like the cut on this one the best. Most people will tell you to avoid 60% tables. I agree with them, but I happen to love the look of the 58/59 table. That is why I’d chose that one over this (my second choice):
They are all eye-clean and decent choices. But that would be my choice.
