Hi,
You have a fantastically informative web site.
I am looking for a diamond for my wife. I’m trying to create a unique ring and our stone choices have gone in every direction from asscher to pear/oval and finally settling on a princess cut in a tension setting.
In trying to get the “best” stone within my budget. I’ve come across some on James Allen that we really like, but they are too large ( 2.7 to 3+ CT) for the tension settings on their site.
I guess I’m really seeking advice on two things. One, are there any tension settings for larger stones and two, what are some good value princess cut diamonds.
My budget for all of this is around 30K.
Thank you for your help.
Finding a tension setting that would hold a larger stone isn’t that easy.
I found one on Brian Gavin (https://www.briangavindiamonds.com/engagement-rings/spiral-of-love-18k-white-gold-5380w18?a_aid=y) that they could adjust for you, but their diamonds cost much more and you wouldn’t be able to find a 2.70ct+ princess cut there within your budget.
Thank you for your help with my situation. Due to the difficulty in finding a tension setting, my wife and I are considering having James Allen make a ring that looks like a tension setting but can hold a larger stone and is maybe more secure.
That being said can you now help me find a nice stone based upon my original parameters and budget.
No problem. What do you think of this one?

Even though there is no reason to go that high in clarity, this one turned out to be the best value within 30k.
Just wanted to let you know that the stone you suggested was perfect and I am purchasing it.
Thank you so very much for your help!
I’m very happy to hear that. It was my pleasure helping you.
