Q&A: Looking for a 2.00 Ct. Cushion Cut Diamond for a Platinum Halo Ring

By Mike Fried,

I am looking for a cushion cut diamond for a halo ring (platinum), hopefully 2 carats, and around to $10 – $12,000.

I didn’t find a full 2ct for up to $12k, but I found this beautiful 1.70ct diamond that would look amazing in a halo:
Blue Nile LD12777995

The high clarity grade is just a coincidence, it was the first eye-clean option I found.

I would like to be closer to 2 carats if possible and can go a little higher on price if necessary.

How do you feel about this one? It seems to be new in the inventory.

That one looks great but I’m thinking a little bigger still. I found this one but I’m not sure how it compares to the one you sent?

Blue Nile LD13053017

It’s a bit deeper than what’s ideal and it also has an extremely thick girdle. It’s not such a great option as it might be less brilliant.

Thank you for looking into the ones I found. How high would my budget have to be to find a good option at 2 carats?

It would look like this:
Blue Nile LD12989282

Thank you, it was more than I wanted to spend but I think it’s exactly what she wants, so that’s the one I went with.

I’m glad we found her dream diamond!
