Hi, my fiance just put a deposit on a ring with a EGL cert and I was just wondering would it be reliable I can give pictures to show you? It’s a G colour with SI1 clarity.

What would the likely cost be of this ring: it’s a 1.53 center diamond and in total it’s 2.00 carat, a G colour with SI1 clarity.

I don’t like the depth. Ideally, the depth should be close to 65% and never exceed 70% (we like to stay below 68%). Not only will the diamond be less brilliant, it will look smaller: https://www.diamonds.pro/education/carat-weight/.
But it’s so pretty, is it a really bad diamond?
I can’t recommend a diamond of that depth. I don’t want you to end up with a diamond with not enough brilliance.
