I found a diamond i think looks like a solid value, SI2, H color, want to know what you think.
Can you send me the link?
Sorry i wasn’t sure if you would respond since im sure you get a lot of requests. I went ahead and made the purchase based on feedback from James Allen reps that this diamond would be eye clean. If its not, i can always send back to swap it out. Let me know what you think:

That diamond is not eye-clean.
I’d be happy to make some recommendations and guide you through the process. What type of setting are you considering? Yellow gold or white gold/platinum? Will it be a solitaire or does it have sidestones/pave? This may affect the colors that I recommend for the center diamond (as we explain in our post on color).
Let me know and I’d be happy to send you some suggestions.
Thanks for getting back to me. I am looking to set as a solitaire in a white gold ring. I’m looking for a 1.5ct round. Color and clarity dot matter as much so long as its eye clean and has no tinting. Thanks again for your help.
…….
Sorry, left out that my budget for the stone is about $10k. Also the setting would not have any side stones.

Thank you again for your help. Another option I have is a local jeweler. He is a small shop wholesaler here in Houston by the name of Diamond World that gets diamonds from Belgium, sourced from Zales? He has a SI1 J color 1.51ct stone for $9200 that when I compare side by side with naked eye to a 1.5ct H color SI2 and a 1.4ct IF G color stone, they all look about the same to me.
The benefit of this local jeweler is he has been in business 35 years, and if at any time I want to upgrade the stone, I get full value of what I paid back on the stone for any future upgrades. That option seems very nice as I could then upgrade to a VS2 or better down the road which is much more likely to be eye clean, etc.
Let me know your thoughts.
Again thank you so much for your help.
Is that diamond GIA certified? I seriously doubt it is.
It is certified, but the cut is only Good, not ideal/excellent.
That is horrific. More than 90% of diamonds get Excellent or VG cut from GIA. that means its the bottom of the barrel cut-wise. Cut is far more important than color/clarity (to an extent). A good cut will look smaller (they are usually cut deeply) and lack the brilliance of a better cut diamond (kind of the point of buying a diamond).
Ok, thank you for your help. Do you have a suggestion from James Allen? I am not sure how I determine from the pictures and GIA report if a diamond will be eye clean. For example, I found this stone, which is in my price range and seems to look good to me but i dont know what to look for.

Thank you again for your help, I am sure you are busy.
That is a very pretty diamond.
Based on your recommendation I ordered that stone, it arrives tomorrow so I will let you know how it looks. Also, I was wrong about the stone from my local jeweler, it is a J color SI1 Ideal cut stone for $9200. So I was wrong on the cut.
Sounds good. Please let me know how it looks.
I go the ring in just at new years, it was pretty spectacular. Thank you again for your help. I actually took it to a local Jeweler (different guys than the ones I mentioned in my previous emails). I asked them to show me the laser inscribed GIA number to confirm my stone and to give me an opinion. They expressed that it was a fantastic stone and that I did everything right, thanks to you.
Thanks again.
