Hello Diamonds Pro,
It’s great that you offer advice!
I’m hoping you can advise on whether the level of ‘sparkle’ for the below 2 diamonds will be good based on their parameters (I’ve included all info I have :))? I’m concerned about the cut given that GIA do not grade these diamonds.
EMERALD CUT
Measurements 7.38 x 5.42 x 3.68 mm
Carat Weight 1.52 carat
Color Grade E
Clarity Grade VS1
Depth 67.9 %
Table 66 %
Girdle Thick
Culet None
Polish Excellent
Symmetry Very Good
Fluorescence None
SQUARE MODIFIED BRILLIANT
Measurements 6.32 x 6.02 x 4.62 mm
Carat Weight 1.51 carat
Color Grade E
Clarity Grade VS2
Depth 76.7 % – I note in your article that 65-75% is best, but maybe this is ok given the table percentage is slightly lower??
Table 71 %
Girdle Thick to Very Thick
Culet None
Polish Excellent
Symmetry Very Good
Fluorescence None
Any additional advice would be very much appreciated.
Many thanks!
The first diamond looks nice, however, I’d still need to see the certificate.
The second diamond, the princess cut is cut too deep. I wouldn’t purchase that one.
How much is the emerald?
Thank you very much for your reply.
The Emerald is c.£9.5-10k. The GIA certificate number is 6201758052

I have been provided an alternative Princess cut because I was concerned about the depth (this one is c.£8.5-9k); the GIA certificate number is 7245147101

Any further advice would be much appreciated.
Have you seen both in person? Was the princess cut eye-clean? And what was the black windowing effect (dark spots) on the emerald? How did it look?
And how much are they?
The cut is great on both.
Thanks Annie!
Please see HD images attached for both diamonds – I have not seen in person, however, I’m told they are eye clean!
The Emerald is c.£9.5-10k
The Princess is c.£8.5-9k
Both prices include bespoke ring.
I was afraid of that. I don’t like the emerald much. It’s very dark. Something like this would look much nicer:
Blue Nile LD07879450
Do you see the difference in the picture? And since there is no reason to pay premium for such high color as E, this option from Blue Nile is a better choice.
The princess cut looks great.
Thanks. Yes we wondered about that, however, assumed it was to do with the picture. The Blue Nile one looks nicer!
What are your thoughts on the attached (this is at a similar price point)?

Best regards.
It looks better than the previous one and the specs are great.
Thanks a lot!
My pleasure.
Best of luck.
