Could I send you a link to a diamond and ask if it’s a good purchase? I am happy with the color and clarity, but all of the numbers associated with the cut are very confusing to me.
Sure. Send it my way and I’ll take a look for you.
Here’s the diamond. If you could help me to better understand how good the quality of the cut is and maybe quantify how radiant it will make the stone that would be very helpful. Thank you!
……
From reading online it seems like you commonly recommend diamonds as well. Just so you know I’m looking to pay about $1800 for an approximately 0.75 carat (+ or – about -.02 carats) oval cut diamond. Thanks!
We don’t like BGD’s virtual inventory. This means that they don’t have the stone in house – it’s not their diamond. If the vendor doesn’t send them a picture or a cert (which is missing too), they can’t request it.
Unfortunately, I didn’t find any alternative on their website. here is a similar diamond from James Allen:
www.jamesallen.com/loose-diamonds/oval-cut/0.68-carat-g-color-si1-clarity-sku-1765910?a_aid=dmnd1357
It’s a bit low but it should not affect the visual appearance. What do you think?
I like it but it has to be a little bigger to fit the ring I have. It really shouldn’t be smaller than 0.7 according to the jeweler I spoke to.
……
Or do you think that .02 carats wouldn’t make a difference?
The carat size is not what matters. The actual measurements are much more important. Look at this 0.7ct stone (it’s NOT eye-clean, it’s just an example).
www.jamesallen.com/loose-diamonds/oval-cut/0.70-carat-g-color-si2-clarity-sku-1868169?a_aid=dmnd1357
It’s much smaller than the one I sent you before and it’s 0.7ct.
Give him the measurements of the 0.68ct and you’ll see what he tells you.
OK, I did a little research and it looks like that diamond would be perfect. I’m kind of amazed it’s such a good deal thank you so much! Would you also please help me understand the cut? I can’t quite make out what all the percentages mean. Is this diamond a little shallow?
……
I ended up buying the ring :)) Thank you so much for your help I’m ecstatic about my purchase. I used this email address, so that you get credit.
Great news!
The diamond is a bit shallower, but it shouldn’t affect the brilliance. I’m wondering what you say when you get it. Please let me know.
Will do!
Looking forward.
It’s perfect thanks so much!
I’m happy to hear that. And I’m very glad that you like it that much.
