Great education from your site. I search all the sites that you mentioned with the parameter round, ideal or better, D, IF/FL. The one result that seem standout is from bluenile with the 2.66Ct.
Can you give me an opinion on this diamond? What concerns me is the strong fluorescence.
That diamond is a big no-no. NEVER buy a colorless diamond with fluorescence, certainly not a D color with strong fluorescence. A) It completely destroys the investment value and B) it cause the diamond to have a terrible milky/hazy effect that completely deadens the brilliance of the diamond. Additionally, the cut is terrible on that diamond (the table is way too big). Keep in mind that about 60% of GIA certified round diamonds get an excellent cut grade. It just makes no sense to pay a huge premium for color/clarity, then sacrifice on far more important aspects like cut (the most important aspect) and fluorescence (if you cross the line, it has a severe negative impact on the look).
I would recommend this diamond for you as a far superior alternative (note that all the following BN diamonds are comparable alternatives for the original ones as the previous company that was recommended no longer exists):
Thanks for the reply. The diamond is already sold. I’ll keep searching for something similar.
I suggest you contact them directly. It may not be sold, but out on consignment at a retailer.
Can you provide your opinion on these 3 stones? I cannot spot where’s the flaw on the Jamesallen stone.
I think all three are virtually identical. I would suggest going with the E VS1 (its the cheapest per carat).
