Hi,
Would your recommendation of “White Gold / Platinum Ring Round: H-J” hold also for large diamonds (2-2.5 carats)?
Thanks!
Yes, if there are no additional stones in the setting, J color is perfect even for a big stone. Unless you’re extremely color sensitive, it will look colorless.
Can you tell me what your approximate budget is? I’ll be happy to help you with the search.
I read all the terms, and it sounds great. I am searching for a 2 or 2.5 carat round brilliant diamond to put into a classic 6 prong solitaire setting. My ideal budget is $25,000-$30,000, but it can also go higher if needed.
Thank you for the information. Here’s my suggestion:

The stone is very well cut, eye-clean and going to look colorless: https://www.diamonds.pro/education/color/.
What do you think?
I was wondering what your opinion is of the Holloway Cut Adviser? I only just found about it today, and I inputted the diamond you suggested into the tool, and got a score of 2.4.
This tool is great for measuring cut parameters. Generally speaking, anything under 3.0 is fine on a score here. Anything under 2.0 is considered a great cut and under 1.5 is what most companies would term “Super ideal” or “Hearts and Arrows” quality. We usually pick out Brian Gavin diamonds for such spectacular cuts (and you pay a premium for it).
At the same time, there are other very important characteristics of a stone (carat weight. eye-cleanliness, color, fluorescence and others). It’s important to find a balance of all the specifications.
