I’m looking for a 1 CT (no more than 1.1 CT since she has tall hands), cushion cut diamond. I’d also like a platinum solitaire setting. She says she wants the smallest, lowest profile setting that will adequately support the stone. Any advice or recommendations would be greatly appreciated!
I really like this diamond for you:

It’s bright, eye-clean and a great value. Not only is it cut well, its on the low end of depth%, so it will set lower than most cushion cuts.
This is the ‘lowest’ setting:

This is the ‘thinnest’ setting:
What do you think?
So sorry about the delayed response, things have been crazy since we got back home from the holidays. I really appreciate your earlier advice, particularly the idea of going with a diamond with less depth in order to get it to sit lower in the setting. It’s something I hadn’t considered.
One thing I think I’d prefer ,if I can find it, is a cushion cut that’s a little more square vs. the more rectangular ones. Below are the two options I like the best at the moment.
I like this one because it appears a little more square than the other.

On the other hand, I like this one because it appears slightly less flawed, not quite as deep, and appears to me to be more of an “antique” cushion cut, while I feel that the other has more of a “crushed ice” look to it. It is slightly more rectangular than the other but at the moment I feel like this is outweighed by the other positives.

I prefer the following setting for either diamond. Just one question, in the description, it has a “can be set with” column that lists a bunch of different cuts with a range of numbers. Can you tell me what those numbers mean? Are those the ranges of carats that can be fit in that particular setting?

I would really appreciate any insight you might have regarding these particular diamonds, or suggestions for a different diamond you think might be a better choice for me.
I would go with the second one. It is a superior cut and will look fantastic in that setting.
