I’m looking to buy an Asscher diamond for an engagement ring, and my budget is $9,000 (for the diamond alone). I’d love to see what recommendations you may have to maximize value.
Your site is really great, by the way!
I’d be happy to make some recommendations and guide you through the process. What type of setting are you considering? Yellow gold or white gold/platinum? Will it be a solitaire or does it have sidestones/pave? This may affect the colors that I recommend for the center diamond (as we explain in our post on color).
Let me know and I’d be happy to send you some suggestions.
Thanks for getting back to me!
So I’ve attached a few photos of rings that are in the world of what I’m looking for. I’m not sure what that type of setting is called, but definitely something that surrounds the diamond is preferable. I’m looking for white gold and the largest carat Asscher diamond that I can find within my $10k budget that is at least H color and VS2 clarity (using the guidelines on your page for this type of cut). I’m in Los Angeles and will likely find a jeweler here to handle putting it into a setting.
Hoping for something in the 1.5 carat range. Think that’s possible? James Allen has a few 1.3 carat diamonds, but nothing I could find that’s a solid 1.5.
Thanks so much, I really appreciate it.
I would recommend this one for you:

It will look great in a halo setting. What do you think?
Beautiful. Thank you.
Glad you liked it. Let me know if you decide to go with it.
