Hello!
I’m in the market for an engagement ring and looking specifically at an oval shaped diamond, at least an I color, VS2 and 1.5 carats. I came across this one at Blue Nile and was hoping to get your opinion on it please?
Blue Nile LD08400660
If you could point me to some other options that would be much appreciated too.
Thank you!
This diamond has great overall specifications. Just the I color is stretching the colorless effect. Can you also tell me what style of setting (solitaire, halo, pave or other) and metal (platinum/white or yellow gold) you’re going to use?
Thanks for the prompt reply. Thanks as well for explaining the commission and referral system that you use. I’ll be sure to keep you posted on my eventual purchase.
I’m thinking of having it set in a pave style, and in white gold. I’m considering a halo too. I forgot to mention as well that my budget is about US$10-12k.
These are my current favorite settings:

Thanks for your help!
Thank you for the information.
Since there are other small diamonds in the settings you like, I’d stick with an H color oval stone. We usually recommend I color oval diamond only into a yellow gold solitaire.

Let me know what you decide.
Thanks for the advice and recommendations, but I am looking for a stone that is at least 1.5 carats. I came across the following round diamond which I thought seemed like pretty good value. Could I have your opinion on its please? Thanks much.

The diamond you found is very well cut, eye-clean and a great option if you’re looking for a round shape stone.
