Thank you for the helpful information on your website. I am looking for an engagement ring ranging between $10-15k, round diamond, perfect cut, solitaire set with platinum band, at least 1.4 carats. Based on your review, I was considering a Brian Gavin diamond given the extra brilliance, which you state is noticeable by 75% of the people tested. Could you please guide me or offer more thoughts. Thank you.
I’m glad you find our website informative. We appreciate it. Now, let’s see how I can help you.
Brian Gavin is an excellent choice for a ring. He is known as one of the worlds experts when it comes to perfectly cut diamonds. BGD’s Signature diamonds are truly fantastic. They are all incredibly brilliant.
These would be my recommendations from their selection:

This one is from their ”Blue collection”, which is a selection of diamonds with blue fluorescence (and thus cheaper). However, each diamond was handpicked and inspected by them to make sure fluorescence has no negative effect whatsoever. That’s why we believe that diamonds from this line offer a great value. Normally, we recommend J color for a white gold solitaire setting, but with BGD’s premium cut you can easily drop to a K color and it’ll still look fantastic. There’s a lot of added brilliance.
What do you think?
Thank you for the prompt reply.
1. I was going to go with a platinum band for sure. I was thinking of not doing a blue diamond just because I do not think she will like the occasional blue reflection. She will want the brilliant clear/white reflection in all light situations.
Thanks.
…
I actually don’t know too much about the blue diamonds. How much blue reflection would there be with medium fluorescence and how in which settings?
I don’t think the blue will be recognizable much. In rare lighting scenarios (club lighting) you’ll see a feint blue hue (its only medium). I think the added brilliance of the BGD diamond is worthwhile in this case. I really love that diamond.
Ok. For purchasing online in general, how does resizing bands, returns, and cleaning/polishing work? Will they also give me an appraised value for insurance purposes?
I believe Brian Gavin gives you an appraisal and offers free maintenance on the jewelry. You should ask them directly.
