Hi Mike, I’m looking for a round diamond for this setting in yellow gold: https://www.jamesallen.com/engagement-rings/pave/18k-yellow-gold-double-claw-prong-0.18ct-pave-set-surprise-diamond-engagement-ring-item-2028?a_aid=dmnd1357
I’d like to keep the cost of the diamond under $2500, but could go a little higher for a great stone. I’d like to keep the carat range between .7 and .8, and the cut quality as high as possible.
I just placed a hold on this diamond ($2230):

What are your thoughts? Is it eye clean or have I missed the mark? Thank you in advance for your time and expertise!
It is eye-clean, but I would not recommend K color for that setting:

Thanks for your advice! I’ll keep looking and see if I can expand my budget a little to get a better color.
This would be my recommendations:
What do you think?
Thank you for the recommendation! This diamond looks great and I feel a lot better about how the color will look in the pavé setting. I just placed the order, and will be sure to let you know how everything looks when it arrives. Many, many thanks for your help!
Sounds great. Keep me posted.
