Hi, I’m in the market for an engagement ring. Looking for a diamond to place in a halo setting, either cushion or round cut. Ideally I would like to maximize the carats for my bucks (would be looking at anything above 0.90 carat and for the right price I would consider above 1ct).
For a halo setting do you suggest round or cushion for maximized sparkle? (Or is it just down to personal preference?)
As much sparkle as possible and no visible defect to clean eye. Are you able to suggest a couple of options for each shape? I am based in Europe.

The shape is entirely a matter of personal preferences, but if brilliance is what you care about the most, then I’d recommend a round diamond. Round cut is the most brilliant of all the diamond shapes.

After having browsed a bit more I think I am more prone toward a cushion cut. I am looking to spend no more than 3.5k USD for the diamond.
