Hi all,
I’m currently in the process of picking a 3 stone setting engagement ring for my girlfriend.
Your site so far has been incredibly useful in the background on diamonds and what I should be looking for.
However, I am still finding some difficulty in selecting the side accent stones for the 3 stone setting (e.g. what size, colour and clarity I should be going for to ensure that the centre stone really “pops”).
For the centre stone I am currently looking for stones around 1.1-1.2 carats, ideal cut, color H – I and clarity around VS1/VS2. I’d be grateful if you could point me in the right direction of the side stones that I should be looking for.
What shape diamonds are you looking for? Do you have a budget for the whole purchase?
Based on what I have seen on the internet so far and in jewelers, I would be looking for round diamonds for all 3 stones. My overall budget is c.£6,500.

Having looked at Blue Nile and your website for advice on princess cut stones, I think I will be looking for something around a 1.2 carat center stone and 0.3 carat side stones. Given that it appears slightly harder to decide on a princess cut center stone, would you be able to send some recommendations as well as some recommendations for side stones, please?
