I like your website and reviews so I thought I would reach out for an opinion. Out of these two… Which one would you choose?

I wouldn’t choose either one. The first diamond has a strong fluorescence which is usually an issue on I+ colors:

The second option is IGI certified.

I’d be happy to recommend some alternatives. But before I do that, can you please tell me what style setting (solitaire, pave/side stones, halo) and metal (yellow gold, white gold, platinum) are you going to use for the diamond? I just want to make sure the I color won’t be any yellow in it.
I am looking for a solitaire in white gold. Between 1.00 to 1.20 carats round brilliant.
To save a little on the diamond, I chose a J color diamond. We usually recommend this color for a solitaire setting: https://www.diamonds.pro/education/color/.
The first one has a crystal close to the edge, but it could be covered with a prong. Both are eye-clean and well cut.
Let me know what you think.
Hi, thank you for the suggestions. I think I would be uncomfortable with something lower than an I color rating irregardless.
Have you seen any J color GIA diamond in person?
Here is an I color one:

Thank you for the new link. I have not. That being said I have heard multiple people say do not go below an I color. I just don’t want to order a ring that shows up to my door yellow which my fiance will not like.
We always recommend J+ diamonds and there don’t seem to be a lot of people complaining about the results. But there are, of course, people that are more sensitive to colors. If you feel more comfortable with an “I”, go with that.
What about this?
……
I hope I’m not driving you crazy… Because it really is a big decision. I think what I really would like is something around the 1.20-1.25 carat range that will pop a little (I will take your advice and go GIA J range. My gf’s ring size is 5. If you could send a few suggestions that would be great! Hearts and arrows would be important as well.
I understand.
1.21ct J VS1 diamond you found is the best 1.20ct+ there. It’s eye-clean, gorgeously cut and will have a lot of fire and brilliance. I couldn’t find anything significantly larger within similar money.
It’s a fantastic choice.
Awesome! One final question… How would this color of diamond look with a pave band?
Unless it’s in yellow gold, I wouldn’t put it in a pave setting. The J color would look yellowish compared to the smaller diamonds in the band.
I got my credit raise so I can buy my rock soon.
What do you think of this one?

The color?
……
Is James Allen the only site you recommend from or are there others?
Have you checked settings on Blue Nile?
The diamond is beautiful, but again, only for a solitaire setting.
I am ready to buy now. I was wondering if you could give me three suggestions from Blue Nile as they do have the band that my gf will want. A few suggestions from the J or I color range under $7000 CDN for the diamond would be great!
Sure thing. Here are two diamond, one J and one I:
