Hello Diamond Pros!
Your site is simply amazing. I feel like you’ve done an amazing job explaining all the different avenues of how to choose the correct diamond for you while giving a subjective/honest opinion. It is now time for me to go out on the edge and try and find that right diamond for her…
Here is my search criteria:
Budget: Maximum $12,000
Shape: Round
Carat: 1.9 – 2.10
Cut: Excellent- Ideal
Certification: GIA
Fluorescence: Medium – Faint depending on Color (This isn’t a huge factor but would be open to suggestions on this)
Color: E – I (Looked at J’s and K’s and they seemed too yellow)
Clarity: SI1/SI2 or better (I think the main thing is it needs to be eye clean, or not have any inclusions in the center)
Other valuable Information: This diamond will be going in a 4 prong white gold setting – depending on where the inclusions are at, we might be able to hide them with a prong.
Would really appreciate any help you can give me! Let me know if you have any additional questions!
One question before I start the search, what style of setting (solitaire, halo, pave or other) and metal (platinum/white or yellow gold) you’re going to use? Then I’ll be happy to send you my suggestion.
Here is a picture of the setting I will be going after once purchasing the diamond. As the picture shows, this will be a white gold setting. Look forward to your suggestions! Thanks!
Thank you for the information.
Here’s the best diamond with great overall specifications I found within your budget:
Blue Nile LD08458588
It’s very well cut, eye-clean and going to look colorless in the pave style setting you like.

If you want to get a bigger diamond, you’d have to increase your budget.
Let me know what you think.
Thanks for the suggestion! That looks like a great diamond. If I were to increase my budget to 13,000 is there something better we could find? Appreciate all your help so far! Look forward to hearing back from you!
Here’s a 1.90 carat diamond with the quality I’d recommend:
Blue Nile LD08330296
It’s very well cut, eye-clean but more expensive.
Let me know what you decide.
I hope all is well! Some life events came up in which I unfortunately was not able to move forward with the diamond purchase a few months back. Everything has calmed down and I’m back to the chase. Apologies for confusion.
Would you still be willing to help me find a diamond? I think the last one you found me was the best, it was from Blue Nile but is no longer available. Below is a previous email that we had exchanged with my search criteria. Let me know if there’s any additional information I could provide to make the search easier.
I know in a previous email we had talked about increasing the budget to 13,000. I am still open to that if the diamond is worth the extra expenditure.
Sure, I will gladly help you with the search.
Blue Nile LD08245940
It’s very well cut, eye-clean and the best option I found at the moment. It’s even slightly over the 13k you mentioned. Is it OK?
Thanks for the response! The diamond you sent me looks great. In the essence of comparison, Is there something comparable that would get us up to the 1.9 carat range? (Wondering if that would blow my 13k budget out of the water)
Next question, if I’m ready to pull the trigger on this diamond, is there a special promo code you would like me to use so that you get credit for pointing me in the right direction?
Appreciate all the help!
Here’s the best 1.90 carat stone I found at the moment:
Blue Nile LD08499721
As you can see, the difference in price is significant but the difference in measurements 0.00 and 0.09 mm. That’s why prefer the 1.85 carat stone more.

Thanks for all the help. I went ahead with the 1.85 carat diamond. I placed the order and am currently waiting for them to confirm they still have it in stock and will then begin the wire transfer process. Thanks again for all the help. Let me know if you need anything from me.
That’s fantastic news! It was my pleasure helping you.
Please let me know how you like the stone once it arrives.
