Hello, and thank you in advance for considering my request! I’m looking to find a round diamond in the 0.3 – 0.4 carat range, with the idea of setting it as a solitaire in a rose gold ring. First, what color stone do you recommend to go with rose gold? Elsewhere on the site you say that even a K-M diamond would look good on a yellow gold setting; is that true of rose gold as well?
Budget is flexible, as the appearance of the diamond is what’s the most important to me, but for a concrete reference, let’s say the budget should be $1000. Here are some of the options I’ve been considering:

www.whiteflash.com/loose-diamonds/round-cut-loose-diamond-3567118.htm
I’m very much open to suggestions, as well as comments on why the above diamonds may or may not be good choices!
Last, do you have any suggestions on buying the setting online versus buying only the diamond and choosing the setting in the store?
Thank you so much! I appreciate the advice!
I’m really sorry, but we will not comment on White Flash under any circumstances. We have had terrible personal experiences with them that a) make us feel no one should ever buy from them and b) precludes us from being objective about them. Other than them, I will be happy to comment on anything else you might find.
I’d stick with J color for a rose gold setting.
I’m not a big fan of the BN diamond’s cut. The larger the table, the less light refracts through it (sparkles). “Perfect” light refraction usually occurs with tables around 55-57%. The larger a table is, the larger the diamond looks (that is the biggest facet on the top, so it makes the face appear larger). I like the 58-59% as it’s a good balance between appearance of size and brilliance.
I like this one better:
Blue Nile LD07935464
As for the BGD one, it looks fantastic as well. Because it’s a new diamond, they don’t have the cert available yet, but you can wait for it.
Thank you for your suggestions! I do like the BN diamond you found. Might this JA diamond be comparable as well?

It shows some small defects in the zoomed images, but those should be invisible to the naked eye, correct? It’s similarly priced, so I would likely take the JA diamond over an unknown BN. However, do you still offer BN discount codes? If so, what discount does the code give?
Both are great choices! The BN one is VVS clarity which makes it eye-clean already. But the JA stone is larger.
The BN code is for $100 off, but for orders over 1k.
Sorry to drag this out for a while. I dawdled too long over the holidays, and the JA diamond I was considering before is no longer available. Could you suggest another JA diamond of similar quality, in the 0.3 – 0.4 carat range? Thank you! I really appreciate it!
No worries. Here is another one:

Thank you very much! I like that James Allen diamond quite a bit, and have now made my purchase!
Best regards.
Great to hear that! It was my pleasure helping you.
