I’m looking to buy an engagement ring for my girlfriend. After going into a couple of shops and feeling uncomfortable and completely out of my depth. I am looking for a solitaire ring, classic engagement style. I am not sure on the shape between round and princess cut but I am told that a round diamond looks better in this as it will shine more?? Anyhow I’m sure you can guide me correctly. The size of the ring would be pretty small she wears only a Pandora ring and after getting her to try it on her ring finger through a friend it comes up just a little loose although would stay on. That is an English Pandora size 48 which after a quick check shows as H½ – I½ in the UK and 4½ – 5 in U.S. I’m not sure how all this works but that is the parameters I am looking for. I have a £2000 budget.
