Q&A: Help Finding a Princess Cut Diamond for a Platinum Split Shank Halo Setting with Around $5k Budget

I am looking for a princess cut diamond, to be set in platinum or white gold. My budget is around $5k, I want a minimum of 1ct center stone, but would prefer bigger if possible.

I haven’t 100% decided on the setting, I like the look of the solitaire with baguettes side stones, I also like the channel, and pave look. I like but slightly less the halo, but I know it is a very popular look.

If I have read correctly for Cut I should be alright with anything Good of Very Good, and still have a beautiful ring. If this correct?

Color I believe you said G – I for white gold or platinum. With the naked eye is the H or I gonna show any coloring? Or should I look more at a G or better?

Clarity – this is the big one, that I was more confused on after reading the article. If I understand it depends more on the location of the inclusion more so that size. So do I need to stick to VVS1 or VVS2?

I like both of these stones, and I appreciate all the information you as well as your website provide.

I’m still trying to decide on the right time to buy as well as the setting I like most.
