Hello,
I’m in the market for an engagement ring for a girl that doesn’t like the traditional. I’m after a diamond with lots of character and inclusions.
In a world where clarity is so important where do I find the opposite?

What shape diamond are you looking for?
What style setting (solitaire, pave/side stones/halo) and metal (yellow/white gold, platinum) do you want to use? This may affect the colors that I recommend for the center diamond (as we explain in our post on color).
Can you give me your ballpark figure of what you’re planning to spend?
I’m looking to spend up to 5k in total.
I think I would make a setting to match the stone since it’s size, shape and features are currently unknown but I do tend to like pave or half halo. I am flexible on stone shape but I do not like marquise, emerald or heart. I seem to prefer shapes that aren’t fully symmetrical like pear. I do know the ring will be made of white gold.
The important thing for me is a stone that has lots of interesting features and inclusions in it which is apparently hard to find in the diamond world since it’s normally all about clarity and sparkle.
How do you feel about something like this?

I do quite like it but still not included enough for me. This is why my search has been hard, the stone I am after is too low quality for the diamond world.
