Hi, I’ve been looking for a nice 0.5 carat round diamond for an engagement ring – just wanted to get your opinions on this one that I’ve found:
I’m looking for something that has excellent value and looks great without spending too much, around the vicinity of $2k!
The diamond you found is ok, but G VVS2 is not the best value, you’d be paying a huge premium for grades you wouldn’t be even able to see.
Can you tell me what style setting you’re using? Different settings suit different color grades better.
Thanks so much for your prompt reply! I have been looking at this setting – though it is currently on backorder, I will probably not deviate too much from a simple solitaire, petite sized ring as my girlfriend has rather small fingers, and the cathedral style setting seemed a nice touch of uniqueness.
Thank you for the link. You can definitely go with a lower color grade. Our usual recommendation for solitaires is J color and it looks perfectly colorless.
Something like this is going to look amazing:
Blue Nile LD11027781
It’s well cut and will be very brilliant.
What do you think?
It does indeed look good! With your assurances that it will look perfectly colorless I will be happy to purchase it for the ring.
Do you also have a coupon code available for Blue Nile?
Thanks!
