Q&A: Help Finding a .5 Ct. Round Diamond for a White Gold Knife Edge Setting With a $1k Budget

I’ve looked for a bit and am thinking of pulling the trigger. I have a hard time determining the best diamond to pick out. I have the setting I would like to go with. I found it on James Allen (14K White Gold 2mm Knife Edge Solitaire Engagement Ring)… a pretty basic setting but I’m dealing with a budget.

I know that I want to get a round cut diamond with it. I’ve read through all the guides and am searching for an ideal cut that is a little bit less than .5 carats. Playing around with the sliders on James Allen is helpful, albeit a bit muddled.

My budget is $1000 at the top end of things. I want a diamond that will sparkle and give off the appearance that it is larger than it actually is. My fiance to be loves glitter and sparkle and shiny things… so I’m hoping to find something that is dazzling to the naked eye but not a total budget killer.

The top end of my budget is $1000… I’m wondering what the diamond might look like if my budget was $750 or $500. Can you find diamond choices that would fit those budgets?

We are going on vacation soon and I’m wanting to propose on the trip, so any money I can save would be helpful. That’s my main reason for different budget levels!
