Hello,
I am in the process of purchasing an engagement ring for my girlfriend. I have decided to go with a custom ring design. This ring will be created by Ancona Jewelers. However their selection of diamonds only offers Forevermark Diamonds. I was wondering what your take is on Forevermark?
Also my budget on the ring itself is $2000. I have a budget on the diamond of $5000-7000. Could you make recommendation for the diamond considering I am looking to find about 1 ct or above VS1 or above with color G or above? I have also looked at Blue Nile but I am confused on how high up the scale of the 4 C’s I should be going.
Forevermark is less strict than GIA, less legitimate. We have found them to be pretty accurate, but we don’t trust someone who does self-grading.
Just to make sure I know what you’re looking for, is it a round cut you want to put into the setting?
Thank you for getting back to me. Yes it is a round cut that I am looking to use.
Alright. Thank you.
I found these two diamonds:

Both are beautifully cut, eye-clean (ask BN for the actual photo, so we are absolutely sure about the eye-cleanliness) and will look very bright and brilliant.
Let me know what you think.
These two really do look great. I will be going to the jeweler on Thursday this week to talk about the custom ring design. At that time I will ask to see what they can offer within my price range as far as the diamonds go. I shall use these for comparison. So far I do think I will get the diamond online. I do need to get a price quote from them for the ring so I can decide if I am on budget. I will let you know at that time where I stand.
I was wondering if I might be able to get away with a little bit of a smaller caret weight like a .9 or .75 and maybe get a little better quality. Do you think that would make much of a difference? The reason I ask is because the two diamonds you send look great, so I am unsure if there is any point in looking for better certificate quality or maybe I would even compromise color for a little but more carat weight.
Let me know if you think that is possible. Thank you.
Great. Let me know.
You wouldn’t benefit from anything with higher specs. VS clarity is high enough for the diamond to be eye-clean and there is no significant difference between an E and G color.
