Q&A: Help Finding a 1.50 Ct. Round Diamond for a Halo Setting With a $15,500 Total Budget

Hi there!

I am looking to buy my girlfriend a round diamond ring on Blue Nile (ideal since I’m in the UK) and looking to spend around £12,000.

I think carat would be circa 1.2-1.7 (best bang for buck ideally). I’m happy to spend all of the budget (or even slightly above) for a really great ring on a classic halo setting. Should definitely be very eye clean and ideally in the colourless range.

Would love to hear your suggestions on this.

Yes, this VS1 stone is eye-clean and an H color is going to look colorless. The stones aside are so small that the difference won’t be noticeable. I wouldn’t go lower but an H color grade is perfect. https://www.diamonds.pro/education/color/

As for the fluorescence, medium can help H and lower color stones to look slightly brighter. There’s no need to worry about it.
