Hi there, I am so happy to have stumbled across this website and hopefully you can help a damsel and her knight in shining armor out a bit! We recently started ring-shopping. He had already done some research and perhaps even read your James Allen Review, which was what led us to start our search there. However, we quickly found ourselves overwhelmed by the expansive array of options and at times, it feels like after many hours of hair-pulling searches, we are not any closer to making a decision.
I have a pretty good idea of the ring I’d love. Preferably a 3/4 ct diamond. I’m willing to go down just a bit in carat size, but if a bigger, good-quality diamond can be found within our budget – Well, what girl would turn that down?! Cut – as best as possible, since my research tells me this is the key to the diamond’s shine and sparkle. I’m ok with color anywhere between D-I. Lastly, the clarity still trips me up a bit. I never know how to decide what would be my minimum acceptance in this category, since it seems to have quite a few variables in itself. Of course, anything that is eye-clean would be acceptable for me. Settings that we are considering are either pave or solitaire. I personally would lean more towards having pave, but that can be made up with the band later.
Our budget is $3000 for the ring (setting plus diamond). He insists on platinum for metal. So far, my search has led me to believe this is nearly impossible to find. Hopefully, your expertise will prove me very wrong.
Here are just some settings I’ve seen that I like so far.
Looking forward to your response. Much thanks!!
I will give you these recommendations. The first is if you went with the solitaire setting. The second and third are for any of the pave settings.
What do you think?
Thanks for the suggestions. The first one seems to have been purchased already. The other two are a little smaller than I am hoping for. Preferably, we wouldn’t go smaller than 0.70.
I found a few on my own. Would like to know what you think about them.

Thanks.
I like the first and last choice you made. THe other two are not eye-clean. I can’t see the price on the first one, but I’d go with the cheaper of the two.
