Hello!
We are looking to purchase an oval diamond that is 2+ carats. The setting I like is aprox $3,500 and we don’t want to spend more than $25,000.
The jeweler that makes the setting I like said they recently had a 2.10 DSI1 that retailed at $24,150.
Does this seems accurate? We’re wanting to know if purchasing the diamond from the jeweler makes sense, or if we would be best off looking for one on our own.
Thank you.
The price is accurate because you’re paying extra for the high color. I found this diamond that is slightly lower in carat weight, but thanks to the cut, it’s larger in measurements than normal 2ct diamonds.

I think it’s a much better choice and you would save a lot.
What do you think?
Thanks for getting back to me and helping with this process.
From what I could conduct from your guys’ website and see in photos, paying for a color as high as a D doesn’t seem totally necessary to me either. I did notice that once I got down to diamonds in the J color I could tell a bit of a tint (that also could have been the photographs) But I think I would like to try and find something no lower than an H, so the one you selected looks very nice to me.
As far as the clarity, the one you selected photographs beautifully. When I am shopping around what is the minimum clarity that I should probably looking at with my price point? It can be a little nerve wracking shopping online for something like this, and hard to tell exactly what I could potentially see and what I would never know is there unless it was greatly magnified.
I also really like the proportions of the diamond you selected. I tend to stray away from the ovals that look very round.
Thanks!
H+ is what I’m looing for in ovals as well. As for the clarity, SI2 is the minimum I’d go for. But as long as it’s eye-clean, ti’s no problem.

I’m glad that you like the one I selected. It’s no longer available. Have you put it on hold?
I have not, someone else must have beat me to the punch.
That’s a shame. Luckily, there are plenty of others.
This is the largest one I found. Not by carat weight, but by the actual measurements:

And here is a bit smaller stone, but for much less:

Both are again eye-clean and will look amazing.
