Q&A: Help Finding a 1.7-2.10 Ct. Emerald Cut Diamond within the $10k to $15k Range for a Solitaire Ring

By Mike Fried,

Hi, looking for a 1.7-2.10 ct emerald cut diamond. I like L/W ratio between 1.20-1.35 or so. Budget no more then $15,500 but if I can get something closer to 10,000 I’d more likely buy. I’m not bothered by an I color. Main concern is reflection of light. I want great optics. Can you help? This is for a solitaire ring, not sure what metal.

Thanks for the suggestions. I have been looking at the inventory online at James Allen and Ritani but am having trouble figuring out which one’s are good in terms of the best light performance. I want to get one that reflects back most of the light in an impressive way. Are the two that you picked out somehow better than some of the others in that way? How do you figure this out for an emerald cut when shopping online.

Of course bigger is better and I’m also trying to get as close to 2ct as I can within my budget or something that faces up big even if it’s a smaller ct weight.

Those two are both well cut emeralds. I think you may be on a wild goose chase. Emerald cuts have the lowest “light performance” of all the cuts.
