First of all thank you for your great website. I’m a first time diamond buyer and I learned a lot. Moreover, having an expert to advise/assist me with the purchase is greatly appreciated.
I am looking to buy a princess diamond in an 18 k yellow gold for my wife for our 25 year anniversary and the budget I have is up to $6,000. I learned that the cut is the most important so I would like an excellent cut and a diamond between 1 and 1.3 k.
I took a look at James Allen’s website and I selected a few diamonds, as follows: SKU:1924686. 1004065, 906643, 726352, 1110499, 1125263, 1918260. 1918252, 1918251, 1918263, 1839276 and 1100090.
I’m not looking for the perfect diamond, I’m looking for a beautiful diamond with no flaws perceptible by the untrained naked eye but I didn’t select any SI because I didn’t know how visible the defects would be.
In conclusion, I’m really grateful for your help in either helping me to choose one of the above or recommending a princess diamond within my budget with an excellent cut, VS to SI, H- I color (or even J if the difference is not perceptible due to 18K yellow gold) and no fluorescence.
Also, what would be a very simple setting for a princess diamond that you’d recommend from the James Allen website?

For the type of the setting you have in mind, I’d stick with an I color and it’ll look great. There’s no reason to choose higher color grades.
