Hi, I’m looking for a diamond that’s ~one carat in either this setting:

or
Blue Nile Petite Diamond Engagement Ring
I prefer the blue Nile setting more, but I find it difficult to choose a diamond on blue Nile without pictures.
My budget is around $10,000 to $11,000 Canadian, which is about $8,000 USD total including the setting in Platinum.
I would like the best cut and color for an eye-clean 1 carat diamond as possible as my girlfriend and I are real sensitive to color and I can tell the difference between an I and an F.
This diamond to me seems very well priced for an F and vs2. I can barely see the inclusion on the edge. Is there a catch?

The gem certificate says that the clarity grade is based on clouds not shown which concerns me. Is this something to worry about? I can barely pick out some clouds in the center. This diamond almost looks flawless even at 40x. Is their any haziness or other flaws that I should worry about? There’s also a faint fluorescence which your site says shouldn’t be a problem.
How’s the cut on this? I debated for a true hearts for the better light performance, but they’ll be a lower color and clarity grade than this one.
If that is not one that you would choose, what would you suggest on james allen?
Also, should I consider any diamonds on blue nile that’s worth looking at as I do like the blue nile setting slightly more.
Thanks in advance for any inputs.
The diamond you selected is beautiful, I love the cut on it! However, that note from the report is a little concerning. If the cert says “clarity grade based on clouds not shown” it means there is a very large cloud that covers a large percentage of the diamond and saps the brilliance from it. It might be ok one a diamond with a VS clarity, but I’d still suggest asking JA to get it inspected by their in-house gemologists and tell you whether it is an issue.
I looked for an alternative and I love this one for you:

Regarding the ‘True hearts’ collection, sometimes you can find a good value there, but usually the diamonds are more expensive with no additional bonus.
As for Blue Nile, this would be my recommendation from them:
Blue Nile LD07441695
It’s fantastically cut and will be very brilliant.
What do you think?
Thanks.
I took your advice and did the diamond inspection on the one I initially chose on JA. Their expert seems to think that there is nothing to worry about based on the VS2 clarity and what he could see on screen. He did mention diamonds are inspected before they are shipped out, is this a better guarantee? Do things usually get caught at this stage?
I have this thing where I would like the diamond to be 1 carat, which seems nominal as the actual diameter of the diamond only differs by 0.05 mm – 0.1mm.
Could you give your opinion on the diamond’s proportions? or anything else that I could improve on for the price range? It’s this one in case you lost the link: www.jamesallen.com/loose-diamonds/round-cut/1.01-carat-f-color-vs2-clarity-excellent-cut-sku-2101658?a_aid=dmnd1357
If the gemologist says it’s fine then I’d take it. We have very good experiences with James Allen and their gemologists. So far they were very and helpful and honest. If they inspect the diamonds before they mount them and ship them, even better.
The cut and overall proportions are excellent and the diamond will be extremely fiery and brilliant.
I hope it all works out! I bought the ring yesterday, I really hope I don’t have to utilize the JA return policy.
Thanks for the 2nd opinion!
You’re welcome.I hope you’ll love it when you receive it. If you could let me know how it looks when it arrives, I’d appreciate it.
