Q&A: Help Choosing a Well Cut Round Brilliant With a $6-7k Budget

By Mike Fried,

Hi, I recently purchased a hearts and arrow diamond from James Allen but I don’t find it very sparkling after I went out compare with only a “good” cut grade diamond. I would like you get some help from you guys picking a perfect diamond for my wife.

My budget is around 6k to 7k. Color grade at least “H” and eyeclean. Thank you so much!

My previous purchased diamond:

The diamond you purchased has an amazing cut. The inclusions on the table are the only problem I have. I’m not entirely sure why it doesn’t look brilliant.

I found this diamond for you:

It’s a great alternative. It’s gorgeously cut and should be very brilliant.

The diamond you have selected is already sold. I also have a question, do I need Heart and Arrow from James Allen to get the most brilliant diamond?

Thank you.

……

How do these two compare?

As long as the diamond is properly cut, it will have a lot of brilliance. We love JA, but their “True Hearts” are usually highly priced and their specs don’t add any more value to the diamond. However, since you weren’t happy with the first one you ordered, it’s worth the shot. Looking at the second diamond you sent me, it’s a gorgeous stone and the price isn’t that crazy. It’s a fantastic find. (The first option is no longer available.)

I have the first one on hold as well. Just wanted your opinion to see which of these two is better. Also, can I mention you guys to JA so you can get the credit for helping me out?

The difference between those two is minimal. They both are gorgeous. I’d say go with the cheaper one as you can’t go wrong with either one.

And yes, you can mention us to them. Thanks for thinking of us.
