Hello, I’m looking for a round diamond (0.9+ carat ideally) from James Allen. My budget for the diamond (excluding setting) is £3000 max.

That diamond you picked is well cut, but it’s not eye-clean. Also, medium fluorescence is a bit concerning. On such a high color, it usually causes haziness: https://www.diamonds.pro/education/fluorescence/.

It looks fine to me, I’d only suggest contacting JA and asking them if they can get it inspected by their gemologists (there’s an inclusion on the edge of the stone and it can be usually hidden under a prong). If they say it’s fine, then the diamond is a great value.

I spoke to JA and they said they could hide the inclusion, which was great, but I’ve been on holiday with limited wifi and when I went to buy this morning, the diamond has already been sold! Such a shame but I’m hoping there will be something similar out there.
I would be really grateful if you could make any other recommendations for anything similar (0.9ct+ £3200 max for diamond).

The specs are great on this one. The difference in size between this one and hat 0.9ct one is negligible.

The cut on that diamond from your follow-up email is good, but to be perfectly honest, I don’t know if it’s eye-clean. The inclusions seem to be quite large. You should turn to JA’s gemologist again and ask them, the’ll tell you more. Let me know how it goes!
