Do you make recommendations for Brilliant Earth? I found a setting there that I love, but I can’t decide on a diamond.
Thanks.
Brilliant Earth is priced significantly higher than their competitors. They make several claims about offering added value over their competitors (most notably their “beyond conflict-free” pledge). We have not yet been able to confirm that these claims are valid.
I’m happy to search the websites we have had great experiences with and find some diamonds for you there.
Can you tell me what shape you are looking for, what style setting you are using and what your ballpark budget is? Then I’ll be able to help you more.
I was looming at the Brilliant Earth Valencia setting. My budget is right around $10,000. I was hoping for a diamond of right around 1 carat. I want something that sparks and is free of visible inclusions.
If you like the setting, you can get the diamond elsewhere and then have one of the companies set the ring for you.
If brilliance is what you care about the most, then I’d recommend Brian Gavin’s diamonds. They will give you the high brilliance you’re looking for. BGD’s Signature diamonds are truly fantastic. They are all incredibly brilliant.
This would be my recommendation from their selection:

They are superbly cut and either of them will have a lot of added brilliance.
What do you think?
Those are both beautiful stones. The first is great, but a little small. I was hoping for right at 1 carat. The other one is cool, but I’m concerned about how the blue fluorescence will look with the clear side stones. That would be amazing on a solitaire setting.
How is it that the first “I” stone looks brighter and whiter than some “H” and “G” stones I’ve seen.
You guys (and gals) really know your business.
I guess I’m looking for a round 1 carat that shines and has sparkle like the first one. Is that sparkle what they call fire? I want it to somewhat shimmer with color from across the room. I have a budget of $6500 for the diamond. If this isn’t possible, I don’t want to waste anymore of your time. I could move a couple hundred dollars if need be. I don’t want that budget to keep me from a world class diamond at $7,000 if you know what I mean.
Thanks!
……
Ritani has some great prices. Would you recommend them? Sorry to bother you, I’m just looking around and trying to learn. Thanks.
I’m glad you like them. Brian Gavin’s diamonds are real eye-catchers. You can be sure that they will have an amazing fire (yes, that’s how we call it). We saw their diamonds in person and were truly amazed.
I suggest contacting their custom service team and asking them about the blue diamond. They are more suited for that than us (and most likely deal with stuff like this on a daily basis). Let me know what they say.
Additionally, with them, you can for sure choose a lower color as their diamonds will always be absolutely gorgeous:

Thanks to the added brilliance, this BGD’s J will be much more brilliant (and even whiter) than an average cut I or H-color diamond from another retailer. That’s what makes them so unique.
As for your follow-up email, yes, we recommend Ritani to our readers often. This would be my recommendation from their website:
https://www.ritani.com/diamonds/round-diamond-1-01-Carat-I-color-GIA-certified/D-PY23NF
https://www.ritani.com/diamonds/round-diamond-1-20-Carat-I-color-GIA-certified/D-VMYHN6
The specs are great on them.
Thoughts?
I like the one Ritani selection, but I don’t feel comfortable buying a diamond without seeing a video of it shimmering. I know you wouldn’t recommend anything but the best, but I just need to see it, I hope that makes sense.
Would you recommend something like this? The shimmer caught my eye:
Blue Nile LD08115003
Of course, I understand.
The most recent diamond is an excellent choice. It’s superbly cut. Well done!
If I buy it, you guys will get some credit, right? It’s only fair.
