What would you impression of this diamond be?
Blue Nile LD08166273
It would be set in in platinum four prong type of leaves setting. I have a face up picture, but I cannot attach it here.
I’ve read a great deal on your site and the information is great.
The diamond is gorgeous. It’s an IF clarity so even without seeing the photo, I’m sure it’s eye-clean.
Do you have a reason for the IF clarity? If you go just a few grades down, you will still get an eye-clean diamond as well and even though it’s slightly smaller, the saving is huge.

My pleasure. Let me know if there is anything else I can help you with.
Yes there is. This situation is somewhat unique as the setting is being made by a jeweler in Israel so therefore I have to go through a diamond consultant in Israel due to import restrictions.
At the moment I am down to these two diamonds, one of which is on Blue Nile. The being said this diamond is an engagement ring going into a brushed platinum setting.
Currently price is equal between the two. What would your opinion be? Attached are video’s and the ring setting. Here are the GIA numbers:
Your prompt reply will be most appreciated. This is stressful.
Both look amazing. The second one (G IF) is slightly better cut, but there won’t be a big difference in appearance.
Many thanks! I thought the cut was a little better also. Being that there is distance involved, I felt a little more comfortable with the IF. If I could see them in person it may be different. The gentlemen selling was pushing the VVS2, of course he had that in his inventory.
Again very appreciated.
No worries. The IF diamond will look amazing!
Let me know how it looks when you receive it.
Will do. Thank you so much!
……
Well the 1.03 IF G sold, but there is another one, again for a very similar price to the VVS2. Any thoughts on how this one stacks up to the VVS2.
Your prompt reply would be so much appreciated.
That diamond looks amazing as well. If it’s similarly priced, go for it.
Thanks again. Very, very, very much appreciated.
