Good morning,
I am looking at buying an engagement ring and have been mostly looking on James Allen. My budget is around $13k for the diamond. I am looking at round diamonds and would love to get something between 1.2 and 1.5 carats. Here is the diamond I am currently leaning towards:
I have no idea if this would be considered a brilliant diamond or not.
For the setting, I think this is the setting I will end up going with this (not sure if this is important for the diamond).
Platinum Pavé Rope Engagement Ring
Appreciate any help and feedback! Is this a nice diamond, or are there better options that you see?

This diamond is a fantastic choice. It has a beautiful cut and would be very bright and brilliant. Great find!
Alternatively, you could also go with something like this that’s cheaper and would look identical:

And here’s a slightly larger option that would still look absolutely colorless:

Thanks, that’s really helpful. Is there any meaningful difference in the GIA vs AGS diamond certification, or can those be considered interchangeable when it comes to their certification (i.e. one is just as good as the other)?
Exactly as you say, AGS is on par with GIA. Both are the most accurate grading labs in the diamond industry. https://www.diamonds.pro/education/ags-certification/
I ended up going with your first suggestion. Thanks for all you help!
That’s great news!
I’m glad you liked my recommendation so much, it was an excellent choice.
