Hi. I’ve really enjoyed reading your site and have learned a ton over the past couple weeks. I’m starting to look for an oval diamond in the 1.3-1.75 carat range for to go in the halo setting I’ve attached. I know that the rose gold affects how the diamond will appear, and I’d love to get your thoughts on what I should be looking for , and what I shouldn’t be paying for given the rose gold. Aiming around $8k. All the usual addendums (maximizing size, where possible. eye-clean, etc) Thanks!

Yea that budget is for a diamond only (Obviously if there are better options that don’t use all of that budget, I wouldn’t be unhappy). I’m planning on purchasing that I uploaded a picture of from adiamor.com once I have specs on a diamond, and then finding someone here in NYC to set the diamond in the ring. I didn’t see you review adiamor.com at all on your site, but I assume you’d recommend not getting the diamond there as well?
As I mentioned, the ring is going to be rose gold. I didn’t see too much written about the thought process for picking a diamond for a rose gold ring, so I’d love to hear your thoughts on that as well.
